fake holidays.

i love fake holidays. in addition to being earth day, today is also secretary's day. or whatever you want to call it. at my firm, we're calling it "support staff" day. which means i'm included!

i don't want to seem ungrateful. but last week for national library week, i did not feel appreciated one bit. i did not get squat. no cake. no ice cream. no balloons. no piles of cash. not even an e-card. at the very least, hr could have sent me an email, thanking me for taking time out of my busy schedule of blogging, twittering, and gossiping on gchat to get help keep the library from burning down. i am the only one left afterall.

but nothing.

so for support staff day, i got a free breakfast. and one of the attorneys called me lourie. which is not even close to my name.

nothing says appreciation like some free bacon and a reminder that no one around here knows who i am.
