twice last week someone referred to the librarianishness of my outfits. i'm not sure if i should be happy about this. or if i should run off to the abercrombie right around the corner and buy something a bit less frumpy.
1. last week, i went to a baseball game with cait and two of her friends. while waiting for me at keyspan park, one of the guys asked cait what i looked like so he could be on the lookout for me as well. and her response, as i understand it, was something along with lines of "she looks like a librarian." sure enough, i show up in a black skirt. sensible flats. blue button down shirt. cardigan. and glasses. i am assuming i was easy to spot in the crowd.
2. also last week, i had dinner with carolyn. who remarked that i was looking very much like a librarian that evening. (note to carolyn: takes one to know one). again, with the button down. cardigan. and glasses.
in my defense. i love cardigans. they keep you warm when it's chilly. they go with everything. they sometimes have cute buttons. what's not to love?
i keep one draped across the back of my chair at work at all times. even if i am already wearing a one. you never know when you'll need to add another to your outfit.

:(! i didn't mean that to make you sound frumpy in the least. my quote to brian was, "she's an adorable librarian," which is a good thing in my book. i'm sorry if it came off wrong. :/
