i came home this evening to find a giant cockroach on the floor in my kitchen. regular sized bugs don't bother me. but giant bugs make me a bit squeamish.
so i did what anybody would do. i stood and stared at it for a good 10 minutes to make sure it was dead. there was no movement. no twitching. no nothing. one of my cats even went and sat down next to it. still nothing. i assumed it was dead. grabbed some papertowels. and picked it up to throw it out.
but guys. the roach was most definitely not dead. en route to the trashcan the roach wiggled. which freaked the hell out of me. so i screamed. and dropped it back on the floor.
i eventually gave myself a peptalk. smashed the roach to smithereens with a shoe. picked it up. and threw it away.
and then i called mandy. slightly hysterical. but very proud of myself.
is there anything i can't handle?
I don't know what is more funny: you laying in bed trying to pretend there isn't a dead mouse under your bed, or staring at a roach for 10 whole minutes to make sure it's not gonna move.

Ha ha ha! That is amazing. I live in mortal fear of a cockroach coming into our house. I really don't know what I would do. Call you perhaps? ;)

ReplyDeleteWe have been having them lately. I am petrified. I just wait for the cats to kill it, which usually takes them 1 or 2 hours. And then I make Jonathan clean up the carcass.
