nytimes features a piece about rethinking the way we do laundry.
i'm all for air drying delicates. lord knows i would rather shave my head than ever put a bra in the dryer. and i do enjoy the way clothes smell when they've been dried in the sunshine (mmmm...particularly linens.)
but. as a kid, i'm fairly certain my least favorite chore in the universe was hanging up/bringing in the laundry from outside. it's tedious. it involves being outside. and i hate how scratchy the jeans and towels would get. frankly, every time my mom asked me to go check and see if the clothes were dry, i would lie and tell her they were still damp so i wouldn't have to bring them in.
hmmm. somehow i'm not surprised that even as a kid i hated doing laundry.
