i'm having some serious technological existential angst.
i've been daydreaming about getting a new computer for the past couple of months. i'll admit it. i've been gazing lovingly at the macbooks of others. wishing mine were shiny and new. and to be fair, my poor little computer is 4 years old. with a cracked screen. a busted battery. a finicky touchpad.
and now, she won't start up.
i'll bring her in to the apple store for some tlc one of these days. but honestly, i think its a lost cause. i just hope they can save my music+pictures. because lord knows i don't back up my data. ever.
only geeks do that kind of thing. psshh.
SO. the issue is. do i purchase a macbook. which is the same thing as what i had before. and therefore makes the whole excitement of purchasing a new mac anticlimatic, because its just the exact same thing.
do i purchase a macbook pro. which is prettier. and more expensive. but fancier than what i need.
do i go with the mac mini. which is adorable. but then means i have to purchase all components separately and frankly that seems like a lot of extra hassle for someone who really just uses a computer for blogging and internetstalking purposes.
OR. do i just get a cheap pc. and be like, i'm too cool for a mac. because i'm totally an individual.
aacccckkkk. the angst. it's just too much.
See, I have a crappy Dell and would kill for a mac of any kind. Honestly, I don't know what a mac mini is but it does sound adorable. BUT, mac can be somewhat evil. with the self canabalism or whatever they call it. AND they (not mac, "they") are starting to make some pretty awesome PC's that are wayyyyy less expensive.
ReplyDeleteI do love my iPhone though.
I see the dilemma.
No just buy an iPad!!! Trust me. I super love it and you won't miss your laptop.
