the one thing about being a girl that fills me with inconsolable rage is the fact that we are doomed to always wait in line for public restrooms. it. is. ridiculous.
give a man the side of a building or a giant trough, and he's satisfied. but no. women probably spend 23% of their lives waiting in line to pee. waiting for the pleasure to hover precariously over a germ-ridden public toilet. all while saying a silent prayer to the baby jesus that there will be toilet paper in their stall.
yesterday, i waited for what seemed like hours for the restroom at a starbucks. hours. i thought about getting out of line and finding another starbucks. i mean, i was bound to run into one within a couple of blocks in any direction. but no. it was the principle of the thing. i was going to stand in line. i had already committed myself and couldn't back out.
and the thing that kept me going was knowing that there was a man waiting in line behind me. finally. a guy knew the pain of waiting in line in order to use a public restroom. and it filled my heart with glee.
