the daily tax and highlights & documents are the bane of my existence. why? why do i have to deal with this? the head of the tax department likes the print copies of the two newsletters on her desk, every morning, no later than noon. so every morning i saunter into work, 10-15 minutes late, and look to see if they've been delivered. 81.3% of the time, there are no problems.
but god. when one of the newsletters go missing, i have a panic attack. this results in my spending two hours of my life trying to track down what happened to them. i call the mailroom. they hate me in the mailroom. i call receiving. they love me in receiving. i call the national news service. tamika and i have become very good friends. hell, i've even considered calling 911. if some lady can call about her missing chicken mcnuggets, i can surely call about my missing daily tax.
last week we were missing monday's issue of the highlights & documents. it took me until THURSDAY to get the correct issue redelivered. this morning's issue was missing, so once again, i called and complained.
and you want to know what makes all of this effort worthwhile? knowing that both of those newsletters are emailed to the partner every morning. emailed. every morning. and she can't just have her secretary print them out for her? i've got to waste my time yelling at some delivery guy who has only 3 teeth and calls me "sweetie" because the partner will only read the print copy.
i cry when partners yell at me.
