little miss sunshine cleaning.

my last weekend in texas, i saw sunshine cleaning with tink and campos.

some thoughts:

1. i love amy adams. no, scratch that, i adore amy adams. if you guys ever find me hiding out in the bushes in front of her house and rolling around in piles of her garbage, don't be surprised.

2. i was not prepared for the amount of seriousness in the movie. i mean, i know they clean up after dead people. but i didn't expect so much drama in the backstory. it was okay. but i was looking forward to a little more humor. i wanted more shenanigans with dried blood and body parts.

3. i also really enjoy alan arkin. but his role in this film was pretty much the exact same thing he did in little miss sunshine. crazy grandfather. precocious grandchild. lots of warm fuzzies and dubious schemes.

4. i am starting to worry that amy adams won't really be able to do anything other than look cute in movies and run around with naive optimism. she needs to find some kind of ugly lesbian role, a la charlize theron. yes, we definitely need to ugly her up a bit.

5. but overall. enjoyable movie.

6. omg. do you think someone would hire me to be a film critic? i am really good at this.
