i finally found a new roommate.
the first time i looked for someone to move in, i spent weeks trying to find the perfect person. i asked lots of questions. tried to get to know everyone's personality. agonized over finding the perfect match.
and then she moved out after a month.
my roommate screening process now goes a little like this:
"hi, i'm sarah. thanks for answering my craigslist ad. here is the apartment. that's the bathroom. the kitchen. the living room. your room. you can paint the walls. there's the ac. i have two cats. if you want the room, it's yours. when can you pay the deposit?"
i'm fairly certain its not the most effective way to find a good roommate. but it works.
anyone want to place bets on how long this one stays? my guess is four months.
End of the year, tops.
