hairy situation.

ok, so we all know i do not like shaving my legs. it always ends with lots of blood and razor burn and general feelings of unhappiness.

i can't remember the last time i shaved my legs. i am fairly certain i did so before july 4th weekend. but between then and now? it's a little fuzzy.

my legs look like those of a lumberjack. i kid you not. not attractive at all.

so, here is my problem. i'm going to san francisco for labor day weekend. and i should probably shave my legs in preparation for my vacation. (although i wouldn't be surprised to find out that no one in sf shaves their legs either. also, i've been advised to wear sweats while there because apparently its currently winter over there. whatever. i'm not buying sweats just for this.)

i have two options:

1. shave the legs now
cons: will have to reshave the legs again before i leave to remove subsequent hair growth. (otherwise, why shave at all to begin with?)
shaving twice within a one week time period will result in a high chance of razor burn. which means red and ugly and splotchy looking legs.

2. wait till the last possible moment to shave the legs.
cons: high probability (93.67%) that i will miss a section of legs while shaving. resulting in really long hairs in random areas (eg, back of the ankles. around the knee. you know what i'm talking about). i very rarely get everything in one fell swoop, so to speak.

so, do i risk the razor burn in order to make sure i have no hideously long leg hairs hiding in odd places on my legs. or, do i risk having hairy patches so as not to have razor burn.

it's these kinds of problems in life that really cause sleepless nights for me.

please note: waxing and nair/veet are even more problematic options. because i am incapable of doing either correctly and end up with almost as much hair as what i started with.

  1. hire a professional and get them waxed. you will thank me later. if you get sufficiently drunk beforehand, it won't even hurt all that much!

  2. maybe i should set up a paypal account for the blog.

"please donate money so i can get my gross lumberjack legs waxed."

people will totally give me money for this, right?

  3. crap, i was going to recommend Veet. that's what i use these days. the hair grows back in way finer and slower so you only have to use it like once a month after a while. and no razor burn!

  5. Too late for San Fran, but for the future - vibrating razors. They're amazing. Before these there was always blood when I shaved, but since I have gotten a cut once and it's been years!! No razor burn either. Freakin' amazing for my sad lack of shaving skills. I actually use the manly Mac 3 Turbo or whatever but there are now girly versions - Shick Intuition I think? Enjoy
