so this article in the nytimes (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/03/fashion/03bieber.html ) about justin bieber is probably the greatest thing i have ever read in the history of the universe. i'm not lying. it really is that good.
for example. his mother is a crazy christian nut. but you don't have to take my word for it. let's just let the article speak for itself.
"He lived in low-income housing with Ms. Mallette [his mother], who prayed that God would use her son as a modern Prophet Samuel, a voice to his generation. [...] So when an Atlanta-based hip-hop manager named Scooter Braun called nearly two years ago, Ms. Mallette was confused. 'I prayed, "God, you don’t want this Jewish kid to be Justin’s man, do you?"' she recalled."
that's right. some jewish kid is in charge of our modern prophet, justin bieber.
"She had not envisioned a future in mainstream pop music for him. 'I said: "God, I gave him to you. You could send me a Christian man, a Christian label!"' She said she prayed with her church elders, who gave permission to proceed."
i don't see why they didn't put that on his cd. the church elder seal of approval. like goodhousekeeping, but for your soul.
and last but not least. this gem:
"Backstage at Lupo’s, Mr. Good and Mr. Braun stood watch, as fans surged at the rim of the stage. But as Justin bounded out, sending deafening screams into overdrive, the men looked appalled: Rather than his assigned baseball cap, Justin flaunted headgear of his choosing: a plaid hunter’s hat, front flap up, fuzzy ear flaps down. [...] He brandished his hunter’s cap: 'Marshalls!' he shouted. 'Eight dollars!'"
aaaaaahahahahahaa. this cracked me up. for unknown reasons. (btw, Mr Good is justin's swagger coach.) 15 year old boys take note. hunter's caps are not swagger coach approved!
(ps i am having technical difficulties with this post. which is why its not linked correctly. sorry bout that)
