they call them killer whales.

i love marine life. especially cute marine life. sea otters and whales and dolphins. 

i think it all started in 5th grade. reading island of the blue dolphins in school and coveting the lisa frank folders of my friends. 

my love has continued to this day. although it manifests itself more in my undying love for moby-dick and my obsessive desire to pick up as many copies of the novel as possible. 

all this to say, the nytimes has an interesting article about right whales. glad to see they are doing okay.
